How can we measure someone's media literacy?

A person is considered as "media literate" when he understands the key components of how and why media messages are created. Answering these questions provides you with tools to:
- critically analyze messages,
- detect propaganda, censorship, and bias in news, and
- understand how structural features, such as media ownership, or its funding, affect the information presented to you.
Try it for yourself... when you are watching the news, or reading something online or in a newspaper, ask yourself these five questions:
1- Who created this message? Who influences the creation of this message?
2- What creative techniques are used to attract my attention, and to convey the message?
3- How might different people understand this message differently from me?
4- What lifestyles, values, and points of view are represented in, or omitted from, this message?
5- Why is this message being sent?
