I. Eligibility
Any person up to the age of 30 who lives in Lebanon (regardless of nationality), or person of Lebanese descent abroad (with or without Lebanese citizenship), is eligible to participate in the Hibr ThinkMedia Writing Challenge. The entrants should submit their entries individually, and can make only one submission. Entries can be submitted in either English or Arabic.
Two Categories:
Category 1: Age 18 and under
III. Timeline
The ThinkMedia Writing Challenge is over. Thank you for your participation. Results will be announced on the day of HIBR Issue 3 launch, the 13th of February 2010.
- Saturday, January 30th, 11am-4pm: Hibr Information and Media Literacy & Web 2.0 workshop for high school students will take place in the Hibr offices in Saifi
V. Prizes
Winning entries (and other top entries) may be published in Hibr print edition and online, plus the following prizes:
First prize in each age category: LL 200,000 gift voucher from Librairie Antoine.
IV. Submission
All materials should be submitted to Hibr electronically, either through the website (participants must login in order to be able to take the quiz or submit article), or by email to thinkmedia@hibr.me.
(If it is not possible to submit electronically by email or online, participants must deliver all information to the Hibr office by the deadline).
VI. Honesty & plagiarism
The Hibr organizing committee has a very strict policy against intellectual dishonesty and plagiarism. All material must be the full work of the person who is submitting the entry. Copying text or ideas from other people, texts, or anywhere online and displaying them as your own work is totally prohibited, and automatically disqualifies the entry from the competition.
